About CVF's election songs:  In 2000, confronted with a Primary ballot containing a whopping twenty statewide propositions, CVF's Kim Alexander wrote the first "Proposition Song", a three-minute sing-along folk song explaining each proposition in an accurate, unbiased and entertaining manner.  

Sacramento-based Capital Public Radio recorded the song and CVF worked with graphic artists to create a video to play along with the song, featuring the words on the screen so viewers could sing along. 

CVF's election songs have become a popular musical collaboration over the years, with numerous performers and bands joining in to produce and record the song and create the accompanying music video.
